Nets expected to sign Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and DeAndre Jordan

While nobody expected the Los Angeles Lakers to be in the running for either Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant, the recently reported formation of a super team in Brooklyn will cost the Lakers one of their top targets at the center position.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported just about an hour before free agency begins that the Brooklyn Nets are expected to sign DeAndre Jordan, a target of the Lakers, to join Irving and Durant in Brooklyn.

There had previously been mutual interest between the Lakers and Jordan, but Jordan is also a close personal friend of Kevin Durant and it appears the appeal of teaming up with him and Irving was too much to turn down.

As for the Lakers, they still have their sights set on Kawhi Leonard and have him as their top target. But it seems like their potential contingency plans are already starting to dry up before they know the result of their preferred path.
