With the NBA regular season wrapping up on Sunday, many players have the opportunity to reach milestones for the season. For Mikal Bridges, that meant reaching a milestone and extending a streak that is more rare in today’s game.
By starting the game for the Nets, Bridges got to play in his 83rd game of the year, the 42nd player to reach that accomplishment. Since he was part of the Kevin Durant trade from Phoenix to Brooklyn, Bridges was able to max out at one more game played than there are on a team’s schedule.
The Nets are locked into the No. 6 seed, so Bridges was just on the court for the tip, allowing him to officially play in the game, before immediately committing a foul after four seconds. Bridges then sat down for the rest of the game as he prepares for the playoffs.

But wait, there’s more. Bridges has now played in every game possible since entering the league in 2018, bringing his consecutive games streak to 392. In fact, he hasn’t missed a game since high school, as he played in every game while attending Villanova as well.

While Bridges can have the title of the NBA’s current Iron Man, he still has a ways to go before reaching the top of that list. A.C. Green owns that record with 1,192 consecutive games played.
