Netherfield GP surgery car park closed 'due to a swarm of bees'

A Nottinghamshire GP surgery was forced to close its car park after a vehicle became engulfed by a swarm of bees.

Trentside Medical Group, in Knight Street, Netherfield, says it anticipates the car park will be back in operation within the space of a few hours once a bee keeper has removed them.

A picture from the surgery shows a large swarm of bees covering the side of a car on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 18.

In a statement on its Facebook page, the surgery said: "Our car park is temporarily closed due to a swarm of bees - we have contacted a bee keeper.

"We hope to have the car park back open in a couple of hours, we apologise for any inconvenience caused."

The medical group says a bee keeper will be moving the insects to a new home.
