Netflix viewers can't sleep and 'nearly wet themselves' after terrifying horror film Eli

Netflix has plenty to offer for horror enthusiasts, but one terrifying film has left viewers with nightmares and sleepless nights.

Eli, which first landed on the streaming service back in 2019, tells the story of a very ill 11-year-old boy (played by Charlie Shotwell) who is thought to have an autoimmune condition.

The youngster is forced to live in a plastic tent and wear a hazmat suit after becoming allergic to everything, but his parents make one last attempt to cure him.

Eli is taken to a secluded mansion for treatment, where Dr Isabella Horn (Lili Taylor) promises to make him better.

He undergoes a series of painful procedures, but is excited about finally being able to remove his protective clothes.

However, the film takes a dark turn when Eli starts to witness paranormal activity and becomes convinced the mansion is haunted.

Eli starts to suspect that Dr Isabella Horn isn't trying to cure him after all and instead has evil intensions.

The only person who believes the young boy is his new friend Hayler, who is played by Stranger Things star Sadie Sink.

Eli resolves to get to the bottom of the spooky goings on and all is revealed at the end of the film when viewers are finally told why Eli has been feeling so unwell.

Fans have been re-watching the spooky film and have taken to Twitter to praise the movie for its scare factor.

"Tried to watch Eli on Netflix now my scary a** can't sleep," one terrified viewer wrote.

Another said: "Just tried watching Eli on Netflix but way to scary for little me, back to happy TV #Eli," while a third person tweeted: "This movie Eli on Netflix is actually creepy asffff I'm definitely gonna have nightmares."

"If you are looking for a scare, try Eli on Netflix - nearly wet myself I jumped so much," one fan admitted.
