The best selling children’s book series Ivy and Bean by Annie Barrows is the next adaptation for Netflix.
Netflix has roped in some well known names and have announced a few more.
The series will be made up of one hour films, rather than being a TV show.
The book series has 12 volumes, the first one was published in 2006 and the latest one was published earlier this year. It’s unclear how many movies will comprise the series.
The books were previously planned to have an animated series that would have aired on Universal Kids. However, due to issues with development Universal Kids eventually decided against it.

Who is in the Ivy and Bean cast?
The show’s currently being filmed and doesn’t have a release date yet.
Netflix recently trialled a new way to release movie series with Fear Street, a horror trilogy that released one movie a week for three weeks.
This proved to be successful and Netflix could be repeating the same release pattern on its family audience with Ivy and Bean.
Either way, the star studded show doesn’t need much experimenting as its star studded cast will draw both children and adults. Here’s the cast:
Keslee Blalock (Ivy)
The young actress has not taken part in any released films yet. However, she does star in Pulled from Darkness, a human trafficking thriller which just finished filming and scheduled to come out later this year.
Blalock also filmed for Apollo 10½ scheduled to come next year.
Madison Skye Validum (Bean)
According to IMDb this is Madison Skye Validum’s first credit.
There isn’t any other information available on the young actress.
Lidya Jewett (Nancy)
Lidya Jewett is an Ethiopian-American actress best known for her roles in the 2016 Oscar-nominated Hidden Figures and Marvel’s Black Panther.
Jewett spent the first few years of her life in an orphanage until she was adopted by a loving family living in Florida. At the age of 6, Jewett began attending modelling auditions and shortly after started landing acting roles.
Jane Lynch
The 61-year-old American actress, author and comedian is best known for role as Sue Sylvester in Glee, Wreck-it Ralph and the 40 Year Old Virgin.
Her role in Glee earned her a Primetime Emmy Award. It’s not known who she will be playing in the films.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson is also another big star announced to star in Ivy and Bean.
As well as playing a major role in Modern Family, he starred in Ice Age: Collision Course and Untraceable.

What is Ivy and Bean about?
These new movies will follow friends Ivy and Bean, who are total opposites.
Ivy is quiet, thoughtful and observant meanwhile, Bean is playful, exuberant and fearless.
However, this tale reminds us that opposites attract and can become the best of friends.
