Netflix trailer for Vanessa Hudgens movie shows scenes shot in Glasgow and Edinburgh

Netflix has released the first official trailer for a movie starring Vanessa Hudgens - which was filmed partly in Scotland.

The Princess Switch: Switched Again is the second in the film series and will be released on Netflix November 19.

Former High School Musical star Hudgens will be reprising her roles as Duchess Margaret and baker Stacy, while taking on the third character of party girl Fiona in the sequel.

The 31-year-old ex-Disney actress was spotted filming with crews in Edinburgh and Glasgow earlier this year.

Scenes for the film were shot at landmarks such as Glasgow Cathedral, Edinburgh Gateway station and Leith.

The two-minute trailer shows how Hopetoun House, near South Queensferry, will also feature in the festive flick.

A description of the film reads: “When Duchess Margaret unexpectedly inherits the throne to Montenaro and hits a rough patch with boyfriend Kevin, it's up to her double Princess Stacy of Belgravia to get these star-crossed lovers back together.

"But the course of true love is complicated by the appearance of a handsome royal who's intent on stealing Margaret's heart. Throw in the unexpected arrival of Margaret's outrageous party girl cousin Fiona, a third lookalike who has ambitions of her own, and you have the recipe for Christmas triple trouble!”

Vanessa Hudgens will be returning to Scotland next month to film the third instalment of the series.

The actress will leave her Californian home in December and is expected to stay in Scotland until filming wraps in January.
