Netflix to launch 'Sexy Beasts' - new 'Masked Singer' style blind dating show

Netflix is launching a brand new dating show which is a combination of The Masked Singer, and Love Is Blind.

The new 12-part show named Sexy Beasts will see sexy singletons completely disguising themselves to find out if love really is blind.

The contestants will don elaborate costumes including full prosthetics that give them animal chatacters.

Unrecognisable from their usual selves, the stars will date each other and find out if they can impress when they are stripped of their looks.

The show is based on the BBC Three programme of the same name, that aired in 2013.

A source told The Sun : "This show offers a new take on the idea of a fantasy date. There are no Kim Kardashian lookalikes here.

"All potential lovers will attempt to find “the one” while wearing an elaborate prosthetic mask of a strange fantasy beast.

"Much like  ITV’s hit The Masked Singer, the fun is in guessing who the real person is behind the mask and what they might actually look like, before the big reveal when masks are off and contestants are shown exactly who they’ve fallen for."

In other dating show news, Love Island host Iain Stirling recently revealed the show is se to take place this year, even if it has to be in the UK.

The summer series of the show is usually shot in Spain, while the first ever winter series in 2020 was filmed from South Africa.

Iain revealed he does not know for sure, because ITV does not trust him with secrets, but he knows the channel is keen for the show to air this year, somehow.

He told  Metro : "People at ITV know what I’m like, and they never trust me with any vital information, because they know I would just splurge it all. I think what they said is that they want it back on ITV2 this year.

"Obviously, it’s annoying, because I haven’t got a sort of Covid crystal ball so we can’t tell what situation that’s going to be in.

Iain Stirling says ITV are keen for Love Island to go ahead this year (ITV)

"But I would to obviously go back and do it. I’ve got so many friends that work on that show and we’d all love to get in the sun and go to Spain for a bit.

"Wouldn’t it be nice to go to Europe for a bit? It’d be great. I’ve not been to Europe since January 1."

Asked about the possibility of the show being filmed in the UK Iain said it had not been ruled out.

He joked that it would be hilarious to see the series filmed in Bognor Regis with the contestants fighting off seagulls.
