Netflix to film 'ground-breaking' new series at Liverpool industrial unit

A huge industrial area has been let on Merseyside for the filming of a new series filmed by Netflix.

The 32,000sq ft space at Graylaw Trading Estate will be used to create a "ground-breaking" new series for the entertainment giant, although the identity of the programme has been kept under wraps.

Commercial property consultants Mason Owen made the announcement on Wednesday. The in-going tenant is described simply as a "production company" working on the Netflix show.

Louis Holt, surveyor at Mason Owen said: "With this letting, we are helping our retained client, reduce their voids from 87% across the estate to just 36%.

"We look forward to seeing the work produced in the space on our screens in the not-so-distant future."

There is now just 32,000 sq ft of space left available at Graylaw.

Liverpool has played host to plenty of renowned TV series and films in recent times, including Peaky Blinders, Sherlock Holmes, six-part drama The English Game, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them, and The Crown.

And last month camera crews were spotted in the city filming new Neflix Sherlock Holmes drama The Irregulars.  The show focuses on a group of crime-fighting children in the Victorian era. Filming is set to last in several locations until May 2020.
