Netflix subscribers will soon be able to play free mobile games

Netflix will soon officially be launching its mobile-gaming app for all subscribers.

It comes after the video-streaming giant had tested the feature with a select number of European subscribers.

With the testing phase seemingly at an end, Netflix will be releasing the service today.

Initially, the service will only be available on Android devices with iOS support coming sometime later.

One of the key benefits of the new service is that subscribers will not have to pay any additional charges to access the games.

The bundle of games, which includes Stranger Things, are mixed into the normal Netflix subscription.

The games coming to Netflix

For now, Netflix subscribers will have access to five games:

  • Stranger Things: 1984
  • Stranger Things 3: The Games
  • Shooting Hoops
  • Card Blast
  • Teeter Up

Netflix has also stated there will be no advertisement or in-app purchases.

Mike Verdu, Netflix's VP of Game Development said: "Members on an Android mobile phone will see a dedicated games row and games tab where you can select any game to download."

The games can be played on multiple devices with the same account.

If you hit your limit, don't worry, Verdu added: "If needed, you can sign out of devices not in use or deactivate them remotely on Netflix.com to free up a slot."

The games will also not be available on kids profiles to further ensure parental control.

If a pin has been set up on your account it will need to be entered to access any of the games available.

There could also be more games available in the future.

Netflix hinted that: "Just like our series, films and specials, we want to design games for any level of play and every kind of player, whether you're a beginner or a lifelong gamer."
