Crews have been spotted filming in Liverpool today for a new Netflix series.
People who stopped by the film set on Water Street reported being told it was for a series called 'The English Game', written by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.
The drama has been described as "part Etonians, part factory workers" by Netflix Vice President of International Originals Eric Barmack in an interview with Variety .

Production company 42 describe the series as a drama that follows the origin of football and "the battle for control of the game between the working classes and the English public schools".
It's due to be a six part series with every episode lasting for around an hour.
Pictures from Stratus Imagery show the area next to Liverpool Town Hall transformed ready for filming.
Other images showed horse drawn carriages being pulled down the street and actors dressed in period costume.
This isn't the first time Liverpool has been used for big productions, with shows The Crown, Peaky Blinders and the much anticipated War of the Worlds all setting up in town for filming last year.
In 2018, 366 different shows and TV projects used Merseyside locations for scenes, making it the second most popular filming spot outside of London.
The number of high-end productions which film over a longer period of time has doubled, and this has proved to be a box office smash for the local economy, generating a massive £16.1million – more than a £5million increase on 2017.
