Netflix signs up for more London office space

Rapidly expanding streaming giant Netflix has significantly increased its presence in central London with a new office.

Property sources told the Evening Standard the California-headquartered firm this summer signed a lease for around 20,000 square feet on Berners Street. The deal, brokered by agent CBRE, is with high-end serviced offices operator Fora and staff have started moving in.

The space is in addition to Netflix’s nearby 20,000 square feet office in Fitzrovia.

Meanwhile, Netflix has appointed JLL to find it an even larger London office, up to 160,000 sq ft, to eventually move into, according to property website React News.

Netflix, which counts The Crown and Black Mirror among its original productions, has been aggressively growing in Britain.

It this year said it was committing to opening a huge production hub at the world famous Shepperton Studios. The company is investing in opening stages, workshops and offices there. It has previously warned of limited studio availability in this country.
