Netflix has shared the first look at brand-new actors who will play Prince Charles and Princess Diana in The Crown.
Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki are set to play out the crumbling marriage between the Prince and Princess of Wales in the new series of the hit Royal drama.
Golden Globe winner Dominic , 51, will play the Prince of Wales while Elizabeth will take over the role of Diana, Princess of Wales.
The new series will depict the troubled couple at the height of their global fame in the Nineties.
Last season, the hit Netflix show saw Diana and Charles fall head over heels in love but early on in their relationship, the cracks soon started to show.
Played by Emma Corrin, 25 and Josh O'Connor, 31, the series proved to be a massive hit as viewers were treated to a birds-eye glimpse into the most controversial relationship in royal family history.
After the critically acclaimed previous series, it was announced that Elizabeth and Dominic would be joining the show last year.
And if the first photos are anything to go by, it appears that producers and casting agents have put major effort into finding the perfect actors who can embody the Prince and Princess of Wales.
A TV insider has revealed that from the outset, Dominic and Elizabeth were an easy choice.
Lifting the lid on the first look, the insider told The Sun: "The images show Diana as she became increasingly self aware and comfortable with her own image.
“As she enters the Nineties she has shorter, sexier hair and her distinctive black eyeliner as well as clothes which showed off her svelte physique.
“But the prominence of her blue sapphire engagement ring in the photos is a reminder that despite her growing independence, she's still tied to the royal family."
They went on: "As her star is rising, Prince Charles’s youthful looks are seen fading, with a fuller frame, greying hair and an increasingly stuffy wardrobe.
“The new Netflix image also sees him with a trademark hand in his suit pocket, looking bewildered as he surveys his home on the Sandringham Estate.”
It comes just two weeks after Netflix released the first look image of Imelda Staunton as a silver-haired Queen during the most pivotal decade.
Imelda, 65, is the third actress to take on the role.
Claire Foy played her Majesty in seasons one and two and Olivia Colman in three and four.
Filming for season five kicked off earlier this month and the brand-new instalment is set to depict the most traumatic years within the royal family as Princess Diana's tragic death at 36 is depicted.
