Netflix sets 'The Witcher' season 4 release date with new teaser — see Liam Hemsworth in action as Geralt

Geralt of Rivia (Liam Hemsworth) looks over his shoulder in a scene from Netflix's "The Witcher" season 4.

Although Netflix had previously confirmed "The Witcher" season 4 would arrive at some point in 2025, it was getting harder to believe that the streaming service's flagship fantasy series would return as the year wore on. After all, "Stranger Things" season 5 is surely going to overshadow almost anything else the streamer puts out before long, right?

If you'd been waiting for "Witcher" news, you're in luck: Netflix just confirmed "The Witcher" season 4 is coming to Netflix on October 30, 2025. This means we'll be seeing our new Geralt of Rivia, Liam Hemsworth, in action in a little over six weeks.

If you want a quick sample of what Hemsworth's Witcher is capable of, Netflix has also shared a teaser from the forthcoming series, and it's far more action-packed than that first look at "The Witcher" season 4 we got a year ago. Here, the White Wolf shows off his swordsmanship and his Witcher Signs to take on a vengeful wraith. Check it out below:

Netflix has shared a synopsis for the new season on Tudum, which reads: "After the Continent-altering events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge and their goals sharpen, they encounter unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good..."

Along with the new teaser, Netflix has also shared a selection of first-look photos from the new season, showing Liam Hemsworth's Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan), plus Laurence Fishburne as Regis, a new arrival for season 4.

Along with those pictured above, "The Witcher" season 4 cast also includes Sharlto Copley as bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, James Purefoy as Skellen, Emhyr's court advisor, and Danny Woodburn as Zoltan, a dwarf and close friend of Geralt's, plus Joey Batey as Jaskier the Bard and Meng'er Zhang as Milva.

Season 4 is being shot back-to-back with the fifth and final season, and is based on the final three books in Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher saga: "Baptism of Fire," "The Tower of Swallows," and "Lady of the Lake."
