Netflix September 2021 release schedule: Full list of films and TV shows coming to the streaming service

After what’s turning out to be one of the most uneventful summers of our lives, cosying up to some quality TV in the final quarter of the year is looking like more of a treat than ever.

Luckily September spells a whole host of new, bingeable content from a range of broadcasters.

Netflix in particular are bringing tonnes of new programmes and films to keep us entertained into the winter months, including the return of the highly anticipated teen comedy, Sex Education.

Here’s everything that will be new on Netflix this September.

Clique- Wednesday September 1

Created by Jess Brittain, this BBC drama series follows Georgia and Holly, two childhood best friends who are drawn apart at university in Edinburgh when Georgia gets accepted into an elite academic circle, leaving Holly out in the cold.

When Georgia starts behaving erratically, Holly becomes worried and decides to infiltrate and investigate her friend’s new clique, uncovering a world sordid secrets in the process.

Shameless US (season 10)- Wednesday September 1

The stateside spinoff of the hit Channel 4 comedy returns for a tenth season.

Money Heist (season 5) - Friday September 3

The Spanish cult hit about a high-pressure heist is back for the first half of its final season.

Worth - Friday September 3

This political biopic looks at a lawyer’s uphill battle to get justice for the victims of 9/11.

Into the Night (season 2) - Wednesday September 8

The dystopian Belgian sci-fi series about a plane trying to keep ahead of the sun’s deadly rays returns for a second season.

1917 - Friday September 10

If you didn’t get to see it in the cinema then worry not! Sam Meades’ multi-award winning WW1 movie about two soldiers delivering a message can finally be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home.

Lucifer (season 6) - Friday September 10

The devil himself is back solving crimes on Netflix for the sixth and final season of the detective drama.

Kate - Friday September 10

Starring Ewan McGregor’s partner Mary Elizabeth Winstead, this nail-biting action thriller follows an assassin who has 24 hours left to live after being poisoned.

Sex Education (season 3) - Friday September 17

After what feels like a criminally long wait, Curtis, Otis and the gang return for a third season of Sex Education.

The comedy series which follows a group a British secondary-schoolers figuring out how to manage the tricky world of sex in their quaint countryside town promises some new faces in the third season.

This includes Jemima Kirk (from HBO’s Girls) who will be playing Moordale’s new headmistress.

Midnight Mass - Friday September 24

The creators of The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor comes another spooky series, starring Zach Gilford, Kate Siegel and Michael Trucco amongst many others.
