Netflix sends Ikorodu Bois filming equipment after recreation of Chris Hemsworth movie Extraction

Netflix has sent a group of Nigerian teenagers filming equipment after they made a re-make of the film Extraction.

The group, known as the Ikorodu Bois, went viral with their latest homemade film, racking up 11.4 million views and more than 160,000 shares on Twitter.

But it wasn’t only social media users left impressed by the trio, formed of brothers Muiz Sanni, 15, and Malik Sanni, 10, as well as their cousin, 13-year-old Fawas Aina.

Streaming giant Netflix was so taken aback that staff surprised the youngsters with a delivery of high-tech cameras, Boom microphones, tripods, voice recorders and even an Apple iMac computer, worth thousands of pounds.

Tweeting a video of them opening the brand new goods, Ikorodu Bois wrote:“Guyssss!! @NetflixFilm sent us this presents omg! Thank you guys @NetflixFilm.”

The group shared their recreation of the Holywood blockbuster in June, telling their 142,000 Twitter followers to tag Chris Hemsworth, the lead actor from Extraction.

A few hours later, Netflix retweeted the film saying, “LOVE THIS.”

It soon caught Mr Hemsworth’s eye, too, prompting him to retweet the video and write, “EPIC.”

The Russo Brothers, which produced the film, invited the boys to Hollywood for the premiere of Extraction 2.

Producers said in a tweet: “This is awesome! We would love to have you guys at the #Extraction 2 premiere...DM us and we’ll get you there!”

“This is the day we’ve been waiting for all our lives,” the group replied. Their 23-year-old brother, Babatunde Sanni, who manages and edits the videos, said the trailer took them a month to make.

“Some days we shoot but end up re-shooting just because we wanted to do our best,” he told CNN.

"We are so happy people are getting to know us globally," he added.

Ikorodu Bois also recreated Netflix’s hit show “Money Heist,” Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us,” Burna Boy’s “Pull Up” and DaBaby and Roddy Ricch’s “Rockstar.”

The Evening Standard has approached Netflix for comment.
