Netflix's Vivo release date, cast starring Zoe Saldana, trailer and more

Is there anything cuter than an animated capuchin monkey trying to find fame?

Vivo, a Sony-animated film that is coming to Netflix soon, tells the tale of just that: a music-loving kinkajou - played by Lin Manuel Miranda - who travels from Cuba to Miami to take to the stage.

The trailer shows the animals dancing their way to stardom, and looks set to delight children and adults alike.

Who is in the Vivo cast?

Musical sensation Lin Manuel Miranda heads up the cast as Vivo. Known for Hamilton and In the Heights, the American actor and producer has teased clips from the animated feature on his social media.

Joining him is Zoe Saldana, who rose to fame in the 2009 epic Avatar. Alongside her acting work, Saldana also recently received an award for her philanthropic efforts.

Brian Tyree Henry - known for comedy roles like Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles in Atlanta - plays Vivo's friend, Dancarino.

What is Vivo about?

The film follows an adorable kinkajou named Vivo, who plays music to the public in a Havana square, alongside his owner Andreas.

Tragedy strikes when Andreas receives a letter from a former musical partner - meaning the pair head to a farewell concert in Miami.

It’s up to Vivo to sing a love song that brings the humans together, but it’s not without its challenges.
