Netflix’s Scott Pilgrim anime series to reunite entire original cast members

The entire main cast of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World will reunite to lend their voices to a new anime series on Netflix. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news in 2022 that a series based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels was in the works, now Scott Pilgrim The Anime has been officially confirmed by the streaming giant.

Scott Pilgrim began as a series of graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley, which was released in six volumes between 2004 and 2010. The film adaptation was released in 2010 and has since developed a cult following.

It starred Michael Cera as the titular slacker and musician who lives in Toronto, Canada. Scott meets and falls in love with the hip Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), but must defeat her seven evil exes before the two can date.

“Original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, along with writer BenDavid Grabinski have conjured up an anime series of Scott Pilgrim. I’m more than happy to announce that I have helped coax the entire original cast back to voice their characters on this epic new adventure.”

Japanese animation studio Science SARU is providing animation for the series, with Abel Gongora directing.
