Netflix's raunchy new series Bridgerton stuns fans over risqué sex scenes just minutes in

Netflix has certainly perked up the end of many fans' dismal 2020 after streaming raunchy new series Bridgerton.

Not least because of some rather risqué sex scene just minutes in, quickly turning up the heat with the sensual period drama which left fans feeling hot under the collar.

The new American period drama, which stars Julie Andreas as the voice of Lady Whistledown, the author of the scandalous society page, began streaming Christmas Day.

Provocative scenes show Viscount Anthony Bridgerton strip down for a romp against a tree with singer Siena - and then again backstage at an opera.

The downright cheeky and sexy scenes brightened up fans' day, with some joking that it was certainly needed after a "looooong 2020".

Meanwhile others admitted that they couldn't recall there being so much sex in the books, leaving them stunned.

One tweeted: "I read the #Bridgerton books eons ago but I don't remember this much sex."

While another commented: "Not sex upon the tree. This wasn't in the books or was it? I can't remember lol #Bridgerton."

A third joked: " The sex. The. SEX. What we needed after a loooong 2020. #Bridgerton."

"Lmaoooo sex scenes in period pieces are hilarious cuz they gotta take off ALL THESE DAMN CLOTHES #Bridgerton," another commented.

One wrote: "#Bridgerton #Bridgertonspoilers marathon sex scenes while a string quartet of Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams" is playing is a thing that just happened."
