Netflix's Love Is Blind set for a season 2 - and there could be UK version

Filling the Love Island-shaped gap in our lives is the new Netflix series Love Is Blind.

The explosive 10-part series features singles who, you guessed it, go on blind dates. But it's no ordinary dating show, as the aim of it is to get married by the end of it, in a process that takes just 30 days.

The contestants all have something in common: they want to be loved for who they are, rather than what they look like.

The dating show, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey has totally gripped Netflix viewers for the intensity of some of the couples, along with the jaw-dropping moments.

And since season one went down so well, the good news is that it looks set to return for a second season - and there could even be a UK version.

That's according to Metro, who spoke to showrunner Chris Coelen.

He told them: "We’re certainly talking about [season 2], yeah.

"I think it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing people put to the test of whether love is blind well into the future.

"That’s what I would certainly hope for."

And in terms of a UK version, he said: "Absolutely! 100 percent yet. Let’s make it happen, I’d love it."

What happens on Love Is Blind?

The less conventional approach to modern dating has them all dating in "pods" where they hope to meet the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with... without ever having seen them.

The pods are kitted out with comfy sofas and there is a thin wall for singles to talk through.

With no distractions from the outside world, the singles talk to a stream of potential love interests and when a meaningful connection is made, they propose and then lay their eyes on their fiancé for the first time.

Engaged and back in the real world, as the couples plan their wedding day, they will quickly discover whether they can turn their emotional connection into a physical one before the fast-approaching ceremony.
