After becoming one of Netflix's highest-ranking English-language shows, The Night Agent is set to end after season 4.
According to Deadline, The Night Agent season 4 is set to be the show's last. The hit action show was recently renewed, with new cast members Titus Welliver, Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Li Jun Li (Sinners), and Elizabeth Lail (You) announced as series regulars alongside star Gabriel Basso.
Created by Shawn Ryan (S.W.A.T) and based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent stars Basso as FBI Agent Peter Sutherland, who finds himself tangled up in a tightly woven conspiracy involving the US government, a mole, and a terrorized ex-CEO named Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan).
Season 1 debuted in March 2023 and became a surprise hit, garnering 168.71 million hours streamed in just six days following its premiere.
"Ever since the initial success of The Night Agent, I've been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey," Ryan said in a statement. "I'm so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget."
