Netflix's 'FIFA Uncovered' series causes a storm with fans on social media

Netflix's new documentary focusing on the rise of corruption in FIFA through the years is causing quite the storm online.

The programme, named 'FIFA Uncovered,' takes a look at how FIFA grew in size from a small company in a downtown office in Zurich, into one of the largest corporations in the world.

As revenues increased and football became flooded into football, greed took over some members of FIFA. The documentary shows many examples of the organisation engaging in questionable deals which quite often result in FIFA members getting richer.

The show also examines how the FIFA executive committee operated in the days of Sepp Blatter's Premiership, and a thorough explanation of how this year's World Cup was awarded to Qatar also forms the basis of a couple of episodes.

The show is already getting plenty of attention online.

"Watching FIFA UNCOVERED on Netflix and there is so much that makes sense now. That level of corruption is unmatched," said one user.

While another wrote "FIFA uncovered is very disturbing. When did the working peoples game become a play toy for Billionaire. What's happened to our game? A state shouldn't be able to pay for a world Cup or use resources in order to get it. I love football, but this has left a bad taste in my mouth!"

"FIFA Uncovered is really exposing the dirt FIFA kept hidden for so long," says another.

"First 2 episodes of Fifa Uncovered are wild, all these execs admitting to the corruption," says one more.

The show looks like it is going to be a big hit. Not only has it got fans talking, but it has also received good reviews from critics.
