Netflix rolls out 'Fast Laughs' tool to help users choose comedy show

Streaming giant Netflix will be launching a brand new tool that will allow you to pick what to watch, based on the funniest clips from the shows.

As reported by Hull Live, the 'Fast Laughs' tool will let Netflix users watch a short clip from a wide range of comedy TV series, sitcoms or stand-up shows in their catalogue.

Netflix allowed mobile users access to this feature in 2021, but TV app users will be allowed to test out the new tool this year.

Countries included in the ''Fast Laughs' tool selection include: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and other select English-speaking countries.

A statement from Netflix said: "Fast Laughs offers a full-screen feed of funny clips from our big comedy catalog [sic] including films (Murder Mystery), series (Big Mouth), sitcoms (The Crew) and stand-up from comedians like Kevin Hart and Ali Wong.

"See a scene from a classic that is long overdue for a rewatch? Or catch something new that deserves a closer look? Fast Laughs lets you add series, films and stand-up specials to your list, or start viewing them immediately."

So, how do you know if you are one of the lucky testers? Those who are will be asked to opt-in on the app, and if the viewer says yes, a 'Fast Laughs' section will appear further down on the homepage like many other categories on the app.

Once you click on the feature, full-screen clips from a comedy programme will start playing.

The user can skip the clip by clicking right or you can rewatch the scene by using the left arrow.

An option to add the programme to your list is offered or you can start from the beginning immediately.

This new tool has come as Netflix announced that users can remove items from their 'Continue Watching' section.
