Netflix rolls out 'Fast Laughs' tool on TV app to help choose which comedy to watch

Netflix has launched a tool which can let you view funny clips from the television library in order to decide what you would like to watch.

The 'Fast Laughs' tool will give the viewer the chance to watch a snippet of one of the many TV series, films, sitcoms or stand-up shows from the company's impressive collection.

Netflix rolled out the feature for mobile users last year but have started testing the feature on the TV app with select users from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and other select English-speaking countries.

A statement from Netflix said: "Fast Laughs offers a full-screen feed of funny clips from our big comedy catalog including films (Murder Mystery), series (Big Mouth), sitcoms (The Crew) and stand-up from comedians like Kevin Hart and Ali Wong.

"See a scene from a classic that is long overdue for a rewatch? Or catch something new that deserves a closer look? Fast Laughs lets you add series, films and stand-up specials to your list, or start viewing them immediately."

If you are part of the 'Fast Laughs' test, users will be asked to opt-in. If the viewer says yes, a 'Fast Laughs' section will appear further down on the homepage like many other categories on the app.

Once you click on the feature, full-screen clips from a comedy programme will start playing. The user can skip the clip by clicking right or you can rewatch the scene by using the left arrow.

An option to add the programme to your list is offered or you can start from the beginning immediately.

This news comes as Netflix announced that users can remove items from their 'Continue Watching' section.
