Netflix Party lets you binge TV at the same time as your friends

An app has been launched that lets users watch films and TV shows in sync with family and friends.

It’s called Netflix Party and allows viewers to stream content from the service as many of us are practicing social distancing and self-isolation.

In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak cinemas across the UK and Ireland have been closed so there’s only one way to get a fix of films, through streaming.

The app gives users the option to spend time watching films and TV in groups online so they’re not completely alone during self-isolation.

To keep viewers entertained and connected with others, the unauthorised app lets several accounts sync up, with a message board feature on the screen, to help keep a sense of community.

Other ways to keep yourself occupied during self-isolation or social distancing include Amazon Prime and NowTV.

If you’re a new member you can sign up for free trials on both and watch the latest series or films, or classics and cancel it within a month - so you won’t pay a penny.

Meanwhile Disney+ is launching in the UK on March 24, during many people’s continued self-isolation or social distancing.

You can pre-order the streaming service now at a cheaper price and have access to more than 500 films and 350 series.
