Netflix offers major update on new series from 'Peaky Blinders' creator — including the release date

A first-look photo from Netflix's "House of Guinness".

Netflix just gave us a huge update about the next series from Steven Knight, the creator of none other than "Peaky Blinders". Introducing: "House of Guinness," a new drama that swaps the streets of Birmingham for those of 19th-century Dublin, Ireland (and the Guinness family's world-renowned brewery).

Today (August 18), the streaming service dropped a plot synopsis, a release date and a bunch of new photos from "House of Guinness." Pitched on Tudum as 'an epic story' about "the powerful and debaucherous titular family," "House of Guinness" could end up being another must-watch family drama — and everything we've just learned all sounds very promising indeed.

Across socials, Netflix shared a quick logline for the series, key art, and a list of notable cast that includes James Norton, Anthony Boyle, Emily Fairn, Louis Partridge and Fionn O'Shea (embedded above).

If mention of "power, rebellion and scandal" and the threat of losing the Guinness family enterprise has whetted your appetite, you'll be pleased to know we don't have to wait very long for "House of Guinness to arrive.

Per the above announcement, we know that "House of Guinness" will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

In addition to the above teaser, Netflix has released a ton of new images from the series, which I've embedded above. Flick through them and you'll see the impeccably-dressed cast in action.

Plus, we've also gotten a more in-depth synopsis for "House of Guinness" from Netflix. It reads: "'House of Guinness' explores an epic story inspired by one of Europe's most famous and enduring dynasties - the Guinness Family. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story begins immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness."

Along with the above names, the impressive "House of Guinness" cast also includes Dervla Kirwan, Jack Gleeson, Niamh McCormack, Danielle Galligan, Ann Skelly, Seamus O'Hara, Michael McElhatton, David Wilmot, Michael Colgan, Jessica Reynolds, Hilda Fay and Elizabeth Daulau.

Teasing the series with Tudum, Steven Knight points to Arthur and Edward as being the "heart" of the drama. "I won't give away the plot," he says, "but they were given joint stewardship of the brewery for very interesting reasons. Before he died, their father very deliberately chained Arthur and Edward together in responsibility for the brewery. You'll find out why when you watch."
