With over 192 million subscribers, Netflix is without a doubt one of the most popular TV and film services in the world.
One of the main draws of Netflix was its free trial, allowing you to enjoy 30 days of free content before being charged.
However, Netflix has now confirmed that it’s no longer offering free trials in the UK.
It explained: “Free trials are not available, but you can still sign up and take advantage of all Netflix has to offer.
“There are no contracts, no cancellation fees, and no commitments. You have the freedom to change your plan or cancel online at any time if you decide Netflix isn’t for you.”
While the free trial service has been cancelled in the UK and US, it’s still available in several other countries, including Austria, Croatia and Cyprus.
Unsurprisingly, many users are disappointed with the news.
One user tweeted: “Netflix doesn't have free trial anymore? What in the world is happening.”
Another added: “WDYM NETFLIX HAS NO FREE TRIALS?!”
And one said: “The biggest reason I haven’t taken @disneyplus yet is that there is no free trial. The main reason why I have used Netflix and HBO in the past have had the opportunity to see what I really get.”
The news comes shortly after Netflix started letting non-subscribers watch some of its original content for free through a web browser page here.
Among the free original content are the first episodes of hit Netflix shows such as Stranger Things and Elite, along with full movies such as Sandra Bullock film Bird Box.
The free content will be available in more than 200 countries, according to OnlyTech.
