Netflix movie 'A Castle For Christmas' to feature song by new Scots band Starsky & The Fox

A new Scots band have seen their debut single snapped up by streaming giant Netflix to feature in a festive smash hit.

Starsky & The Fox will see their track 'Celtic Heart' used in the film 'A Castle For Christmas,' which is released worldwide next Friday.

The band's song, recorded at the iconic Barrowlands, caught the ear of an American film company who heard the demo earlier this year.

Now it is set to form the backdrop to the Mary Lambert-directed film which stars Cary Elwes as a Scottish Duke, and Brooke Shields as famed American author Sophie Brown, who travels to Scotland hoping to buy a castle.

The band's lead singer Starsky, of Coylton, said: "It's an uplifting single which is an indie-folk celebration of the Scottish Highlands, the landscape that continually stirs our hearts and whose spirit courses through our veins.

"Being part of a major Netflix Christmas adventure movie is a dream come true for us.

"The movie itself is a love letter to our homeland and is hopefully going to be a big hit with families around the world."

Recorded at the studio of guitarist/producer Jamie Duffin (Twin Atlantic, Ashton Lane) and written by Jamie, Starsky and bass player Scythe, the track carries a nod to the classic Scottish songwriting of Runrig and Dougie Maclean.

And Starsky credits inspiration for the track in both the world-famous Glencoe and the less well-known Knoydart, a truly remote peninsula on the west coast only accessible by boat or on foot.

The track has been released across all major digital platforms via My Hart Canyon Music and can be downloaded HERE
