Netflix major shake-up - all the movies being pulled from streaming service next month

Netflix will be disappointing viewers as they prepare to pull a number of popular films and shows in a major shake-up.

The streaming platform is known to remove beloved programmes after a limited time, leaving fans unable to finish their shows.

On May 1, a list of a few movies and shows will disappear from subscribers' apps.

iZombie fans will be upset to hear that the supernatural crime drama will no longer be available to watch next month.

The popular series, which stars Rose McIver and Rahul Kohli, ran between 2015 and 2019.

Another favourite being removed is 2010's hit movie The Social Network, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield.

Here are the most popular titles vanishing from the platform...

iZombie

iZombie follows the adventures of doctor-turned-zombie Olivia Moore, who turned into the undead while attending a boat party.

Instead of killing innocent people to feed, Liv decides to drop her life and get a job at a morgue where she eats the brains of the corpses she autopsies.

Of course, there's a little twist.

Every time she eats a dead person's brain, she temporarily absorbs some of their personality traits and skills.

She also experiences flashbacks of that person's life.

Liv uses her newfound skill to solve cases involving murder victims.

The Social Network

The 2010 biographical drama film, directed by David Fincher, follows the beginnings of the social networking site Facebook.

Jesse Eisenberg stars as founder Mark Zuckerberg. Other stars in the movie include Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake and Armie Hammer.

It was a critical and commercial success, with the film grossing $224 million on a $40 million budget.

The Social Network also won multiple awards and received many nominations.

Blade Runner 2049

Epic neo-noir science fiction film Blade Runner 2049, released in 2017, stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.

It's a sequel to the original 1982 film Blade Runner and has Ryan playing K, a Nexus-9 replicant 'blade runner' who uncovers a secret that could change the course of society and civilization.

The original movie was based on Philip K. Dick's 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Although it was released to critical acclaim and was considered one of the best films of 2017, it was a box-office bomb.

It was nominated for and won several accolades.

Big Daddy

Big Daddy is a classic Adam Sandler comedy-drama film that follows him, playing Sonny Koufax, getting dumped by his girlfriend due to his lack of responsibility.

He adopts a five-year-old boy named Julian who appears on his doorstep and the rest is history.

The 1999 movie stars the Sprouse twins, Dylan and Cole as well as Jon Stewart, Rob Schneider and Leslie Mann.

The director, Dennis Dugan, worked with Adam on Happy Gilmore, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Grown Ups and Jack and Jill.
