Netflix Kaleidoscope viewers all say the same thing about which episode to watch last

Netflix viewers are all saying the same thing about which order the episodes of new series Kaleidoscope should be watched. The new crime drama dropped on the streaming platform on New Year’s Day, and fans have flocked to social media to share their reactions to the unique way it is presented.

The limited series – from American author and screenwriter Eric Garcia and executive producer Ridley Scott – follows a crew of thieves as they attempt to pull off a $7bn heist, with the series spanning from 24 years prior to the heist to six months after. It boasts a stellar cast fronted by Breaking Bad and The Madalorian villain Giancarlo Esposito as master thief Leo Pap.

What makes the show different is its non-linear storytelling. The series is designed so the plot will still make sense regardless of the order you watch its eight episodes – with one exception.

Each episode is named after a different colour: Green, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Violet, Red, Pink, and White. Netflix arranges the episodes in different orders for different users, so the order in which they are viewed will affect the viewpoint of the story, the characters, and the questions and answers at the heart of the heist.

Speaking to Netflix prior to the series release, Garcia said: “There are questions that are going to be asked in one episode that are answered in another episode. Similarly, there’ll be answers in an episode you’re watching that you don't even know are answers to something until you see the question when you watch another episode.”

Many fans have already binged their way through the series and have taken to social media to ensure prospective viewers know that White is the intended final episode. On Twitter, @heymiker said: “Netflix's #KALEIDOSCOPE is absolutely brilliant. Kinda like a drama-thriller version Ocean’s Eleven, without all the smugness. Save the White episode for last.”

@RawwHoneyy echoed: “Kaleidoscope on Netflix is worth the hype. Best thing is you can watch in any order as long as episode white is last.”

@lendanaaaxx said: “Just finished Kaleidoscope! Crazy how it had me on edge every time!! And no matter what order you decide to watch it, have the “White” episode as last.”

@ken_been_thugn said: “Kaleidoscope on Netflix is giving what it’s supposed to give!!! You can watch it in any order you want but watch the WHITE episode last!!!! Don’t get confused! Just keep watching.”
