Netflix fans say Pamela Anderson documentary A Love Story is ‘a must watch’

Netflix has released a new documentary about Pamela Anderson which fans have said is “a must watch”. Released on Monday (January 30), Pamela: A Love Story centres around the 55-year-old Baywatch star and gives her the opportunity to tell her story in her own words.

As per Netflix’s official synopsis, the doc is “an intimate and humanising portrait of one of the world’s most famous blonde bombshells.” It explores Anderson’s life and career “from small town girl to international sex symbol, actress, activist and doting mother.”

Using exclusive interviews and never-before-seen footage, she shares the story of her rise to fame, rocky romances and the infamous sex tape scandal. The documentary is produced by Brandon Thomas Lee – Anderson’s son whom she shares with Mötley Crüe drummer and former husband Tommy Lee – and is released alongside her tell-all memoir, Love, Pamela.

They come a year after the release of Disney+ series Pam & Tommy, which dramatised the theft and distribution of the former couple’s intimate home videos. Released in February 2022, the series was made without Anderson’s permission or input – though its creators and star Lily James did attempt to contact her – and catapulted her back into the public’s consciousness.

Discussing the Emmy-nominated show with Variety, Anderson said it was “not necessary” and like “salt in the wound”. Now, with Pamela: A Love Story, the mum-of-two has reasserted autonomy over her life story, and uses her new platform to tell her truth.

And for once, in her own words, on her own terms!!! A MUST WATCH!!!”

@Ljaneturner said: “Found Netflix’s Pamela: A Love Story really moving. Taking back a narrative that was truly snatched away from her, Pam is vulnerable and honest in telling her story in her words. The love she has really shone through, and you can’t help but fall in love with her in return.”

@dealzjr said: “That documentary was interesting, heartbreaking and after all was said and done, hopeful. Pam’s sons are a credit to her and you can tell they adore her. I hope this brings her the peace she deserves.”

@MissKFergie said: “#PamelaALoveStory is well worth your time. She reclaims her voice with brazen honesty, unapologetic sentiment, and a warm sense of humour.”

Pamela: A Love Story is available to stream on Netflix.
