Netflix fan has brilliant hack to watch The Irishman as a 'mini-series'

You may have noticed but The Irishman is rather long.

The new Netflix release is a Martin Scorsese crime tale of epic proportions and runs for a grand total of 209 minutes - that's just under three and a half hours!

Regardless, Scorsese fans love the new film and have taken to social media to praise it.

The Irishman follows mob hitman Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran ( Robert De Niro ) as he begins a lengthy career in the world of of organised crime under the control of crime boss Russell Bufalino ( Joe Pesci ).

However, when Sheeran begins a strong friendship with iconic union boss Jimmy Hoffa ( Al Pacino ), Sheeran finds his loyalties tested as Hoffa and the mob grow increasingly antagonistic towards each other.

The film is based on an , which will be why it's so long, but one Netflix user has a way to watch the film in a format similar to a mini-series for those who struggle with long runtimes.

Alexander Dunerfors posted an appropriate way to segment the film into four parts.

The first part is 49 minutes and runs from the start until Frank ends his call with Jimmy Hoffa.

The second segment runs from here until the character of Joey the Blond (Sebastian Maniscalco) is introduced at 1 hour 40 minutes in.

Next, the third sequence is from this point until Frank exits the house after a climactic scene at 2 hours 47 minutes.

The final sequence would then run here until the end.

While some may bemoan watching the film in this way, let's just let people watch movies how they like, shall we?

The Irishman is available now on Netflix.
