Netflix confirms price increase in email to customers

Netflix has written to its customers to confirm its prices will increase from next month. The streaming giant is putting its prices up by £1 or £2, depending what level of subscription service you are on.

The basic and standard plan will go up by £1 a month to £6.99 and £10.99 respectively, whilst the premium subscription will now be £15.99, an increase of £2 a month. The streaming service, which is home to some of the world's biggest shows including Stranger Things, Ricky Gervais' After Life, Bridgerton, said the update "will help it to deliver even more value for memberships".

A Spokesperson for the firm said: "We’re updating our prices to bring you more great entertainment. Your monthly price will change to £10.99 on 16 May 2022. This update will allow us to deliver even more value for your membership – with stories that lift you up, move you or simply make your day a bit better."

The price change will be made immediate for all new members, whilst existing members will be told about the price increase 30 days before their next bill is due, depending on their specific billing date, the Mirror reports.
