Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyhahu on Wednesday warned that his country would strike back hard if it comes under attack, as he reiterated his support for the US killing of Iran’s Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani last week.
"Whoever tries to attack us will be dealt the strongest blow," Netanyahu told a Jerusalem conference after Iran launched a salvo retaliatory missile strikes on bases used by US troops in Iraq.
He said that Israel "stands completely" beside US President Donald Trump's decision in ordering the drone strike that killed Soleimani at Baghdad's international airport.
He added that Trump should be congratulated for acting "swiftly, boldly and resolutely."
Netanyahu has described Soleimani as a "terrorist-in-chief.”
