A key right-wing partner in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ruling coalition said it opposed delaying the government's judicial reform plan but still respected his decision to do so.

"We believe that the decision to stop the legislation and reform because of threats of refusal (for soldiers to serve in reserve units), anarchy and wildcat strikes is a mistake," said the ultra-nationalist Religious Zionism party said in a statement on Monday.

"At the same time we respect the prime minister's decision," it said after Netanyahu agreed to delay the contested reform until the next parliamentary session.
