Netanyahu Plans to Visit Abu Dhabi Before Israeli Elections

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Political sources in Tel Aviv revealed that Israel and the UAE are arranging for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Abu Dhabi and Manama in two weeks.

The trip could take place ahead of the upcoming March 23 elections in Israel.

According to the sources, the only obstacle is that UAE doesn't wish for the visit to resemble support for the Israeli PM elections' campaign.

However, Netanyahu has reaffirmed to the UAE leadership his desire to make the trip, which has been delayed three times in the past four months.

In this context, the UAE leaders are holding talks over the matter and taking the plus of other Israeli parties, including Benny Gantz Gantz and Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, as well as other sides close to the White House.

The Israeli PM was planning for a Gulf tour in November, but the visit was rescheduled several times.

Sources earlier revealed that Netanyahu has planned to visit each of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Manama, however, the trip was shortened from three days to just three hours due to the pandemic.

Political sources said that Netanyahu is eager to visit UAE because he is not optimistic regarding the elections' outcome and he's hoping that the trip would boost his chances.
