Nestlé USA issues voluntary recall for Cookie Dough Bars

Cookie dough is now the target of a voluntary recall.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just announced a recall that is sending people to check their cupboards and refrigerators.

Nestlé USA (NSRGY) -) is the brand in focus -- for their popular Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough "break and bake" Bar (16.5oz).

The Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar could potentially contain a foreign material, says the company. The foreign material is listed as wood fragments.

The recall is for limited products with batch codes: 311457531K and 311557534K with Best By Dates of 8/22/23 and 10/23/23. These codes and dates can generally be found on either the back of product or on the side of the product.

FDA

“While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, we are taking this action out of an abundance of caution after a small number of consumers contacted Nestlé USA about this issue,” the company said in the recall notice.

Nestlé and the FDA advise customers not to prepare or consume these products. If you find that you have these products, you can return them to the retail location you purchased them from and you'll be able to get a full refund or a product replacement.

The company states that it is confident this is an isolated issue and does not affect other Nestlé products.

Consumers that need any further assistance can contact Nestlé USA. The company is available to take calls weekdays 9am until 6pm EST at 1-800-681-1678.
