Nessie pumpkin statue causing waves at American tourist attraction

This amazing timelapse film shows Nessie like you've never seen her before.

The footage was shot in the Descanso Gardens, in California, where the vegetable monster will be central to the attraction’s annual Halloween celebrations.

Employees drained a huge pond and used wire to build Nessie’s skeleton before a team added a skin and pallet loads of vegetables to bring her to life.

The colourful statue is already causing waves among visitors and is already one of the most popular on the site.

One visitor wrote: “Well done! It is even cuter in person!”

While another said: “We were wondering why the pond was drained. Now we see.”

The statue was built just days after The Record revealed the latest "compelling" evidence that Nessie exists.

Monster hunters  are astounded by the clarity of a sonar image of an object, recorded more than 500ft below the surface of Loch Ness and estimated to be 33ft long.

The image was captured by Cruise Loch Ness director Ronald Mackenzie while he was skippering a catamaran on Wednesday afternoon.

The 49-year-old said: “The passengers were quite excited because we had just spotted a sea eagle, but then I saw on the sonar something more eye-catching."
