'Nervy' - Leeds United faithful see concerns grow after Arne Slot snubs Whites job

Leeds United supporters are becoming increasingly concerned after Arne Slot confirmed that he will be staying at Feyenoord.

The Whites have already received knockbacks in their quest to appoint a replacement for Jesse Marsch, who was sacked on Monday.

Carlos Corberan and Andoni Iraola were the early frontrunners but both have dropped out of the running. Corberan has penned a new long-term deal at West Brom, while Rayo Vallecano have blocked Leeds' approach for Iraola.

Another name on the reported shortlist was former River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo. But according to reports in Argentina, he too has decided to turn down a 'formal offer' from the Whites.

This left a lot of supporters' hopes resting on Feyenoord boss Arne Slot. He has been the bookmakers' favourite for the job since Tuesday night, but he has today announced via Dutch outlet Voetbal International that he will be staying put.

It's looking increasingly likely that Michael Skubala will be on the touchline once again when Leeds welcome Manchester United to Elland Road for their second clash in a week on Sunday.

@charles_toher Shame. Sounds like a bit of a disaster. I'd take Nuno Espirito Santo from all the possibilities at this point. We outscore pretty much all the teams bottom half and have quality attacking players. Just need tightening up at the back.
