'Nervous' Meghan Markle will be 'dreading' royal reunion at Queen's Jubilee, says expert

Meghan Markle will be feeling "nervous" ahead of her trip to the UK with Prince Harry and their children for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, an expert has said.

The family of four confirmed earlier this month that they would travel to Britain from California with three-year-old Archie and Lilibet, who turns one on Saturday, for the celebrations that start on Thursday.

Harry and Meghan quit the UK in early 2020 after stepping down as senior royals and have now carved out new lives for themselves and their family in the United States.

However, they've also spoken out about their time in the Royal Family, giving a bombshell tell-all interview to Oprah Winfrey.

They made several claims about the royals in the chat last year including that Harry had "conversations" within the royal household about how dark son Archie's skin might have been before he was born.

And according to royal expert and author Duncan Larcombe, coming back to the UK will probably be "incredibly nerve-wracking" for Meghan.

He told OK! : "For Harry, he came back for Philip's funeral and the unveiling of Diana's statue last summer – and, of course, he was meeting the Queen and seeing his dad not that long ago."

"But, for Meghan, this is probably incredibly nerve-wracking for her. I will imagine that she with some reason, will be dreading the return."

He also added that Meghan will probably be grateful that on this visit to the UK, she will have her children with her.

He explained: "Having Lili with them when they return for the Jubilee is probably quite a good distraction. It will all be about the kids and kids' talk because you have to hope they wouldn't have long, drawn-out, heart-to-heart chats in front of their children."

The Jubilee celebrations kick off on Thursday with Trooping the Colour - but so far, it is unknown what role, if any, Harry and Meghan will play at this event.

They could make an appearance in one of the horse-drawn carriages that make their way from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade.

However, it has been confirmed they will not be appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony after the parade for the traditional RAF flypast as the Queen has limited balcony appearances to working royals only.

However, on Friday, Harry and Meghan are expected to join the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family at a service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral.

According to the Telegraph, as well as Harry and Meghan being expected to attend the service at St Paul's, Prince Andrew is also expected to be among those at the service - with the entire Royal Family also there.

This means that all of the Queen's children and grandchildren could be at the event - and some of her great-grandchildren may also reportedly attend.

Among the youngest royals that could be there are Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Mia Tindall although Harry and Meghan's two children Archie and Lilibet are unlikely to be there, given their young ages.

During their stay in the UK, Harry and Meghan will be marking a very special day - daughter Lilibet's first birthday.

She turns one on Saturday - and as she's never been brought to the UK yet - she has not met the Queen, her grandfather Prince Charles or many other of her royal relatives.

However, reports have suggested that her birthday will be the day the couple will finally formally introduce Lilibet to the Queen.
