'Nervous' Leeds United fans split as they react to Cody Drameh loan move

Leeds United supporters have taken to social media to deliver their views on the announcement that Cody Drameh will spend the rest of the season in the Championship with Cardiff City.

The 20-year-old has joined the Bluebirds on loan until the end of the season, despite being called upon on three occasions by Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa in the last month.

He will link up with former Leeds forward Steve Morison, who took charge of the Bluebirds back in November following the departure of Mick McCarthy.

Although sanctioning temporary exits for young prospects rarely raises eyebrows, the crippling number of injuries within the senior squad has left many doubting why Drameh has not been retained.

@Townend1919 tweeted: "Why have we let someone who has been a part of the first-team go when we have so many injuries?"

@leedsunited_lee tweeted: "Daft decision to let him go with our current circumstances but good luck Cody."

@tohare3 tweeted: "Baffling decision, loaning players out from a very thin squad before even looking like bringing anyone new in."

@gillroydmor tweeted: "Must admit, (I) don't understand the logic here but wish him all the best for the rest of the season."

@BENLEEDS11 tweeted: "Under normal circumstances this would be a good move for all concerned, sadly our current circumstances are anything but normal. Hopefully this decision won't prove costly."

Despite objection from sections of the fanbase, others have insisted the move will be of benefit to Drameh as a prodigy aiming to rise up the pecking order at Elland Road.

@L33W1919 tweeted: "This will do him the world of good, big future at Leeds but majority of the replies will be negative about lack of incomings."

@rugbyleaguelady tweeted: "Makes me a tad nervous, but he certainly needs extra first-team experience and he will be better for it!"

@Jack_T_92 tweeted: "Understandable people are peeved at him going given how thin our squad is. (I) think it’s a good move for him, especially as he’s seen as Ayling’s successor. Regular Championship football will do him the world of good."
