Kevin Clifton denied that the Strictly curse hit him and Susanna Reid during the time they were paired up on the BBC dancing show.
The professional dancer, 37, was grilled by Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain today, who suggested that Kevin looked "nervous" over the "curse" line of questioning.
Susanna, 49, was paired with the pro in 2013 and suffered from the famous 'Strictly curse' a year later after splitting from her long-term boyfriend Dominic Cotton.
"You do get very close on the dance floor,' Susanna admitted. "It doesn’t mean that it turns into anything otherwise dancers would do it all the time."
Piers exclaimed: "They do do it all the time!"
He continued to point out that there "is a genuine strictly curse" and as Kevin deflected the question, Piers remarked: "You look a bit nervous about this line of questioning."
"No not at all," Kevin replied.
At the end of the awkward interview, Piers flapped a hand in between Susanna and Kevin, asking: "Was there ever any..."
"No," Kevin replied. "Was there ever any with you two?"
"Not yet," Piers replied. "Is that how you feel Kevin?
"Not yet and never," Susanna responded firmly.
Piers said optimistically: "Not never - that's a double negative!"
Earlier, Piers teased Kevin's appearance on the ITV show and said: "And he swept Susanna off her feet, literally. Was it all boobs, bum and - what was it?"
Susanna laughed: "Bounce, bum and bongos."
"Bounce bum and bongos," Piers corrected himself. "Sorry, I'd like to apologise to anyone who was offended. I don't think anyone was offended watching [Susanna's dancing]. Strictly star Kevin Clifton is here.
"I'll be asking the question everyone wants an answer to."
Susanna exclaimed: "The one question that everyone wants answered?!"
"I mean, did you or didn't you? Did the strictly curse 'strike'?" Piers asked.
Susanna responded wryly: "I don't think we need Kevin Clifton in for me to answer that."
Piers replied: "Really? Really? We have got Kevin Clifton coming in. Apparently he's going to make a bombshell revelation."
"Oh is he?" Susanna said with raised eyebrows. "About what?"
Piers grinned: "Apparently live on air he's going to catch one of our presenters unaware making a bombshell revelation about the time they worked together... I didn't work with him!"
