Nephews kill their uncle for property in Kanpur

KANPUR: A 62-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his nephews over a property dispute in Rasoolabad area in Kanpur Dehat District on Sunday.

According to the police, the victim identified as Shriram Singh Sengar, a resident of Om Purva, was having a dispute over property with his nephews, Captain and Ashok Singh. On Sunday afternoon, while on the way to his fields, Sengar was allegedly waylaid by his nephews who beat him up, causing him grievous injuries and leading him to death. Sengar’s son Udaypal Singh has given a written complaint to the police accusing his cousins for the death of his father.

Kahinjari outpost in-charge Gajendra Singh said that on the complaint of the son, a case of culpable homicide has been registered against the culprits. Further action will be taken after the post-mortem, he added.
