Neo-Nazi group led by notorious extremist hung racist banner from bridge in Scots countryside during lockdown outing

A shadowy neo-Nazi mob which wants to remove all non-white people from the UK has been organising outdoor gatherings in the Scottish countryside.

Patriotic Alternative staged an event last week, bragging online that it was operating in defiance of lockdown rules.

The group is led by Mark Collett – a former publicity officer for the BNP who was kicked out for being too racist.

Collett was exposed in a Channel 4 documentary, in which he was recorded saying he admired Adolf Hitler and making revolting comments about Aids and black people, drug users and gay people.

In pictures viewed by the Record, the group – with faces disguised – are seen hiking through a wooded area of central Scotland.

Their post says: “We were out in force today, showing defiance in Clackmannanshire.

“This joke of a lockdown hasn’t stopped us expanding.

“The beautiful Scottish scenery, quality company, and poignant determination, inspires us all in keeping Scotland for the Scots.”

A picture from the event shows a banner draped over a bridge proclaiming their wish to remove all non-white people from the UK.

Asked to comment by the Record, they replied: “I’d like to thank you for the free publicity you’ll be giving us but we don’t deal with anti-white scum.”

The new group offers camping trips and paint gun sessions to “build communities” among racists.

Collett, 39, is seen in a picture with his deputy leader Laura Towler and 11 masked paintballers.

The group has pumped out lockdown material designed for children which boasts of being “free from the shackles and ideology of the National Curriculum”.

The website touts a racist conspiracy myth that states that people of colour are trying to replace white populations.

Last night, anti-racist groups expressed concern that the group is organising events in Scotland.

A spokeswoman for Campaign Against Antisemitism said: “Patriotic Alternative is a fascist organisation that targets young recruits with racist indoctrination.

“It is gravely concerning that this organisation has been able to gather and train during the quiet of lockdown. The police must act.”

Hope Not Hate researcher Simon Murdoch said: “Collett is a longstanding antiSemite who has spoken sympathetically of Nazi Germany, described the Holocaust as the ‘alleged extermination of six million Jews’, and regularly collaborated with David Duke, a former leader in the Ku Klux Klan.”

Scottish Labour MSP Pauline McNeill said: “Stoking hatred is a crime and we need to ensure there is action so that the message is loud and clear that these groups will not be tolerated in Scotland.”

Police Scotland said: “We cannot comment on something that has not been reported to police.”
