Nemanja Matic hints he has transfer lined up for when he leaves Man Utd

Nemanja Matic has revealed where he would love to play once his Manchester United career wraps up, after his post-match press conference delivered a major hint.

Matic captained United as they drew 1-1 with Young Boys in their final Champions League group game, with top spot already confirmed prior to the match.

The experienced 33-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea back in 2017, but the Serbian has naturally seen his game time reduced, and with his contract expiring at the end of next season, he could be thinking about his next move.

Likely to be one of the last moves in his career, Matic has clearly already given it some thought.

Have Your Say! Is Nemanja Matic still needed at Manchester United? Let us know in the comments here.

Matic has played across Europe during his career, finding success in his native Serbia before enjoying spells in the Netherlands, Portugal and of course, England.

The Serbian has never therefore played outside of the continent, but a recent interview given with Brazilian outlet TNT Sports has caused a stir over in south America surrounding Matic's future.

Still grasping fluent Portuguese from his time at Benfica, Matic gave an interview with the Brazilian media and the reporter praised the midfielder for his language skills, admitting that he would have no problem fitting into life in Brazil.

This is where Matic caused the Brazilian media to be flooded, as he admitted that one of his idols played in Brazil with Flamengo and that's the only club he would play for in the continent.

Matic said: "Only Flamengo. Only Flamengo. The only one. I like Dejan Petkovic. A hug to everyone."

His hero, Petkovic, spent four years of his career at the Brazilian side over two different spells, and following his comments there are rumours linking Matic with a potential move to Flamengo after his time at United is over.

To heighten rumours even more, United have a connection with Flamengo as their midfielder Andreas Pereira is currently on loan at the Brazilian side, making it even more likely that a deal could be done if Matic was to leave before his contract expiry.

For now though, Matic is still an extremely useful asset in United's side, and the Serbian has featured in every single Champions League match this season, as Ralf Rangnick's side qualified top of the group.

The new interim boss will not only be hoping to steer proceedings in the Premier League, but the German can now mount a Champions League push in what will be something of a free pass for United, and it was the knockout stages that led to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being offered a bumper deal as manager.

Although not as athletic as he once was, Matic's experience shows through and if United are to have any success this season, the Serbian will be an inferential figure within the dressing room and when needed on the pitch.
