Nelson Agholor expected to remain with Eagles despite team drafting J.J. Arcega-Whiteside in 2nd-round

Nelson Agholor got the dreaded vote of confidence from the Eagles GM on Friday, except this time, it appears the Birds embattled wideout can breathe a deep sigh of relief. Despite the Eagles drafting Stanford wide receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Eagles GM told reporters at the Nova Care Complex, that Agholor is still a big part of the Eagles future per NJ.com.

“No,” Roseman said at NovaCare Complex, “for us, Nelson is an important part of our football team. He’s an important part of what we’re trying to do. We’re really excited to have him here. He’s someone who has continued to get better and better as a player.”

“For us having this amount of depth of talent, it’s going to be something we’re going to need during the course of the season,” Roseman said. “It’s a long season if we’re hoping to play well into January, we’re going to need everyone and we’ve seen that the last couple of years. Our depth has been a huge part of our success.”

It was reported earlier in the week, that Agholor could be had for the right compensation, and some speculated if the Eagles were ready to move on after drafting Arcega-Whiteside. It appears Howie Roseman is content to roll out a bevy of talented and versatile weapons this season.
