The Ginza Nyan-tastic World event, commemorating the fifth anniversary of manga "Neko Pitcher," is currently being held through Sept. 17 at Marronnier Gate Ginza 2, a shopping complex in Chuo Ward, Tokyo.
Kenji Sonishi's popular manga about a cat who becomes the first feline pitcher on a professional baseball team of humans appears in the Sunday supplement of The Yomiuri Shimbun. The English-language version is carried in The Japan News on Fridays on this page (see below).
On the first day of the event earlier this month, Miitaro, the cat who is the manga's central character, visited the venue and had a fun time with fans of all ages.
Popular scenes from the manga are enlarged on panels and exhibited in a special venue on the complex's fourth floor. Plush toys and other related products are on sale as well.
Some of the restaurants as well as food and beverage shops in the building are serving dishes and other products featuring the manga or cats in limited numbers.
