Oprah Winfrey narrowed down the suspects in the worst game of Clue: who was worried that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby wouldn’t be white enough?
Winfrey, who conducted the bombshell-filled interview with the royal couple, clarified Monday morning that neither Queen Elizabeth nor Prince Philip raised concerns about Archie’s skin tone.
“(Prince Harry) did not want to share the identity with me but he wanted to make sure that I knew and, if I had an opportunity to share it, that it was not his grandmother nor his grandfather that was a part of those conversations,” Winfrey said on “CBS This Morning.”
The racist questions about the skin color of the royal baby, born to the white Prince Harry and biracial Markle in May 2019, raised eyebrows Sunday night when the explosive interview aired.
“In the months when I was pregnant… we have in tandem the conversation of he won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title, and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born,” Markle, 39, told Winfrey.
Winfrey sat for a follow-up interview with longtime friend Gayle King Monday to break down some of the more dramatic moments of her two-hour program with the couple and share unaired footage, including Prince Harry talking about the racism that Markle faced in his home country.
