Neil Warnock speaks out on Palace star Wilfried Zaha's time at Manchester United & his future

Wilfried Zaha was "let down" by Manchester United during his time at Old Trafford, according to former Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock.

The Palace star had a disappointing spell at Manchester United after leaving the Eagles in 2013, failing to make an impact with the Red Devils before joining Cardiff City on loan, and then rejoining Palace, initially on loan before making the move back to south London permanent in 2015.

And Warnock, who was manager at Palace when Zaha returned on loan from United in 2014, said he could understand why the player felt let down by the Red Devils.

“He wasn’t in a good place. I met him in the chairman’s office," Warnock said ahead of a reunion with Zaha when his Cardiff City take on Crystal Palace tomorrow (Saturday).

'Quick feet, just like Ronaldo' - What Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said about Palace ace Wilfried Zaha

"We were talking to him and it was obvious how he felt then he had been let down by Manchester United. When I spoke to him I could understand why.

"He was only a young lad then, he needed help and an arm around the shoulder. It didn’t appear that he got any of that.

What the pundits have said about Wilfried Zaha after his comments on Man United & his future

"That is what you do, you go away, rekindle that enthusiasm."

But Warnock has made a bold prediction about the future of the Ivory Coast international, amid speculation over his future amid reported interest from several top clubs in England and across Europe.

"He has always had tremendous skill and in the next few years I am sure he will go to one of the top few clubs in Europe," he said.
