Neil Warnock's Cardiff City future revealed and the truth about Sunday's meeting with Mehmet Dalman

Neil Warnock will not imminently quit Cardiff City amid mounting discontent and is already planning for the January transfer window.

Rumours emerged yesterday claiming that the manager was ready to leave following the disappointing Severnside derby defeat against Bristol City.

One social media post, purporting to be official, even tried to dupe the fan base into thinking the club had parted ways with the manager.

However, WalesOnline can confirm that is not the case and Warnock is determined to turn things around at Cardiff City Stadium following the international break.

Some reported that Warnock spoke with club CEO Mehmet Dalman after the loss to the Robins to discuss the manager’s exit.

However, we have learned that is categorically untrue and while the pair did speak, Dalman was in fact impressed by how Cardiff played against Bristol. The focus of the meeting was on the forthcoming January transfer window and potential additions to the squad.

Many agree that the football the Bluebirds played in the defeat was arguably some of the best they had seen in the Welsh capital this season, barring the end product, and Dalman is of the same mind.

But that doesn't change the fact the club have underperformed this season, with Warnock and his players facing heavy criticism.

Relations between Warnock and Dalman remain very positive, although owner Vincent Tan is, of course, the man who would ultimately make the decision on Warnock's future if results don't improve over the coming weeks.

Cardiff are now 14th in the Championship table, seven points off the play-offs.
