Neil Warnock 'not convinced' by Leeds United defensive duo despite Liverpool win

Former Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he's still not convinced by Leeds United's defence despite an impressive win over Liverpool. The Whites scored a late winner through Crysencio Summerville at Anfield to end their eight game winless run, whilst also bringing Liverpool's Premier League dominance on home soil to an end.

The win alleviates any short term pressure on boss Jesse Marsch, with the Whites moving out of the Premier League bottom three. However, Warnock believes his former club need to tighten up at the back if they're to grind out results.

It's fair to say that Leeds have performed well in patches throughout the course of the campaign, but lapses in concentration has seen them conceded easy goals despite pushing at the other end of the pitch.

“They’re so open. They have a good game like that where they give everything and attack but they’re so open to the counter-attack,” Warnock told the Die For Three Points Podcast.

“Some games they play really well but still lose by a couple of goals. I’m still not convinced by them at the back. Since even during my time there.

"Luke Ayling and Liam Cooper – I know they’re regulars but I wasn’t convinced by the defensive side of Leeds.”
